答會眾提問：兒童聽道的問題，成人無法記住講道的問題，以及進步主義的陷阱

常常有人問我說，我的孩子聽不懂講道，還要讓他來參加大廳聚會嗎？

甚至也常常有人告訴我說，我記不住講道的內容，或者我聽不懂講道的某個要點，怎麼辦。

還會有人告訴我說，我覺得我來聚會的時候都不專心，這樣對我自己不負責任，對別人不負責任，對上帝也不負責任。所以我想我還是不要來了。

面對所有的問題，如果要我用一句話簡短的回答，那就是：堅持聽道，哪怕似懂非懂。

以下這篇文章的標題是《堅持讀經，哪怕似懂非懂》。是的，我修改了這個標題來勉勵大家。事實上，在讀經和聽道這兩個話題上，我的回答都是一致的：堅持下去，不要擔心似懂非懂，上帝會在其中做奇妙的工作。

世俗的進步主義常常為那些熱心愛主的人挖了一個陷阱，這個陷阱就是：如果我今天不能有所成長，如果我今天不能夠學到某一個具體的功課，如果我今天不能夠得到什麼進步，我就是在浪費時間。然而這是巨大的謊言。首先，這使我們焦慮，沒有喜樂；其次，這種思維的背後仍然是因行為稱義，完全忘記了恩典；第三，這種思維的根基仍然是依靠自己，而不是仰賴上帝的主權。

People often ask me, "My child can't understand the sermon, why should I let him come to our worship hall service?

I've even been told that I can't remember the sermon, or I can't understand a certain point in the sermon, so what should I do?

Some people also tell me that I don't feel like I'm concentrating when I come to the meetings, and that I'm not being responsible to myself, to others, and to God. So I think I'd better not come.

If I had to answer all the questions in one short sentence, it would be: Keep coming and listening to the sermon, even if you don't understand it.

The title of the following article is “Keep Reading Your Bible, Even If You Don’t Understand It”. Yes, I have changed the title to encourage you. As a matter of fact, my answer is the same for both Bible study and listening to the sermon: stick with it, don't worry even if you cannot fully understand it, God will do a marvelous work in the midst of it.

Worldly progressivism often digs a trap for those who love the Lord passionately, and that trap is: if I don't grow today, if I don't learn a specific lesson today, if I don't make any progress today, I'm wasting my time. However, this is a huge lie. First of all, it makes us anxious and joyless; secondly, this kind of thinking is still backed by justification by works, completely forgetting about grace; thirdly, this kind of thinking is still based on relying on oneself rather than relying on God's sovereignty.

May the Lord help us. Keep reading the Bible, keep listening to the sermon, and keep meeting together, even if we don't understand it for a while.
