Thank you XXX, you have raised a very good question. There are a lot of details that we can discuss. Here's a brief conclusion that I'll share with you first.
Let's say: (1) a person who does not agree with the Church's Confession of Faith and Membership Covenant, and has always expressed protest and opposition, VS. (2) a person who does not quite agree with the Church's Confession of Faith and Membership Covenant, but has always been seeking with a willingness to learn, and VS. (3) a person who is not clear about what the Church's Membership Covenant and Membership Covenant say, but is willing to respect and submit to the pastor's leadership, who should sign and who should not? Between these three, who should sign and who should not?
My conclusion is that: the first person should not. The second and third, if they are willing, should sign.
According to what you have shared, it is possible that you and Sister XXX are more like the second and the third. So I would encourage you to sign this with peace and not worry.
In addition, for example, when we voted, we vote "Aye", what are we proclaiming? I think there are at least three kinds: First, this motion is very good, and I agree with it, so I vote Aye; second, I don't like this motion, but it may be the best for us, the most suitable for us, so I vote Aye; third, I don't understand what this motion really means, but I trust our pastor's leadership and decision, so I vote Aye.
“Vote Aye” is similar to “sign”. Pray for us to move forward together in unity in this. Pray that the Lord will bless you as you continue to grow in this ministry.
